Carmarthen Antiquarians held a Hidden History day school on February 16th, for a large and animated group of history enthusiasts. Led by celebrated local historian MaryThorley, the theme was The Women Of South West Wales, with an all-female line up of speakers: Angela John, Eiluned Rees and Eryn Mant White. We got vivid and gripping storytelling, along with academic rigour and passionate love of subject. And we learnt lots about Carmarthen's history; like the role the Unitarian College played in attracting liberal thinkers to the town, along with diversions like mesmerism, in which Carmarthen Victorians could dabble.

Later on this year, Mary Thorley will be speaking at Narberth Museum as part of the #woww project, run by Narberth Museum: https://www.facebook.com/events/578405125964617/. This highly collaborative project involving poetry, prose and film will result in a digital curation of pre-1945 undiscovered stories of Women of West Wales. More stories
