We Carmarthen folk seem to like our local food, and the Carmarthen Food Assembly, an online ordering scheme to bring together buyers, producers and growers became popular, quickly. So quite a few people were disappointed when Food Assembly UK announced it was closing down operations, due to too few customers.
But Carmarthen branch founder, dynamic Carrie Laxton with her team and support from local customers, have been most resourceful and now, on September 13th, https://carmarthenfood.com/ will open to take orders. Even the new website has been created by a customer.
Whatever your preference - fish, cheese, cake or meat - there are about 350 products available weekly, with 75 options which are allergen free, vegan and vegetarian. There is an amazing choice of Welsh cheese and some lovely treats for Christmas on offer.
The scheme works through you ordering online and then picking up your food from collection points in Carmarthen. So support for local producers, money going back into the local economy, excellent provenance for the family's food... with a great excuse to just tuck in!
Hmmnn... enjoy. More stories
