New Music Event Coming To Llandeilo - Folk @ The Hangout - June 30th - 5pm until Late
Carmarthenshire Folk band The Meadows have teamed-up with the exciting new venue The Hangout to create a new family-friendly event showcasing folk and acoustic music from the vibrant Welsh music scene. 'Folk @ The Hangout' is an evening with a festival atmosphere and a wide variety of music.
The evening will be opened with a showcase performance by talented local singer/songwriter Begw. This year’s lineup include The Monte Dons - an energetic band driven by bassist Paul Gray who had hits with a number of bands including The Damned/UFO/Eddie & the Hot Rods, and fronted by Anthony Lewis on vocals. Also headlining are Celtic Folk performers Brenig, a duo from Aberystwyth who perform both self-penned and traditional folk songs which tell stories of Welsh folklore, traditions, history, love and the countryside. Cynefin presents songs from bygone Wales, untold stories of the local people which have been unheard, sometimes for hundreds of years and arranges them with his own distinctive sound. The Meadows will also be adding their vibrant, contemporary Folk to the evening, with their original works alongside fresh arrangements of ancient folk songs, weaving between foot stomping reels to rich vocal harmonies. Pembroke Dock’s Showboat TV will be filming and broadcasting the performances. Tickets are £10, limited to 200 and are available online via https://www.themeadowsband.co.uk/news (75p booking fee applies) or can be purchased in advance from The Hangout Llandeilo.
