Chroma: A Book of Colour by Derek Jarman
Alongside Oriel Myrddin Gallery’s exhibition Roger Cecil + 4 Contemporary Painters we will be reading Chroma: A Book of Colour - June ’93; a meditation on the use of colour spanning the centuries from Medieval through to the Modernist painting. Celebrated film-maker, artist and writer Derek Jarman also discusses the deeper meanings of colour in science, religion, philosophy, psychology and alchemy in this personal and deeply evocative work.
“…a highly personal reflection on colour, a keleidoscopic experience that throws out different facets like a prism in the light" New Statesman
"Jarman reminds us how much there is to be smelled, observed and listened to in the world if we do not walk past it" The Guardian
Join us for a friendly discussion led by Kirsten Hinks Knight.
Free entry, no need to book, tea and cake provided.
