14th of July - 6.30pm
Enjoy an evening of 'Hwyl' (fun) on the move - on the Gwili Railway. Enjoy authentic Welsh food and entertainment on a historic steam train as it travels through the countryside. A truly unique experience - and one not to be missed if you're visiting Carmarthenshire and West Wales, or if you live locally.
The Event
Step back in time when you arrive at Bronwydd Station, the home of Gwili Railway - and be welcomed by the enchanting sounds of the harp being played. Then it will be time to be seated in the 1950s dining carriage ready for the train's departure on its journey through the Carmarthenshire countryside.
Whilst the train travels slowly along its tracks, you'll be treated to 3 courses of Welsh delights - beginning with a selection of Welsh canapes, followed by a hearty bowl of lamb cawl (the national dish of Wales), served with local bread and cheese, and ending with a delicious dessert. During the journey you'll also enjoy an evening of entertainment, showcasing some great Welsh performers.
At this HwylNos evening, sit back and enjoy beautiful harp music performances from talented young harpist - Lucy Jones; be mesmeried by stories of Welsh myths, legends and folklore from professional storyteller, Carl Gough - and be entertained by the songs and voices of Carmarthen Male Voice Choir.
An unique experience not to be missed.
So,whether you're visiting or on holiday in the area and would like to discover more about the music and culture of Wales - or whether you live locally and would like to join in our celebrations - there will be a warm Welsh 'croeso' (welcome) awaiting you!
