Our monthly Bhajan singing evening at the Ashram continues on April 8th!
Bhajan singing is a form of Bhakti - devotional Yoga, one of the many ways of Yoga on the path to liberation, spiritual moksha or freedom.
I will teach bhajans as I was taught in India, first we will warm up with the Carnatic vocal scale then we will learn different bhajans in Sanskrit Hindi or Tamil. I will translate and tell the stories behind them and then as we become familiar with the tunes (over a series of sessions) when you feel ready we all begin to take it in turns to lead the group through a bhajan, this is part of the path to grow your own self and develop confidence and open your heart and voice in a safe warm and supportive space. You do not have to lead of you don’t want but stay open to it over time :-)
You are not required to be a great singer to come as I always say the Divine is not listening to our pitch only what is in our hearts!
Come and try ??
