This July, we are thrilled to bring you The Last Supper, a unique theatre performance by Reckless Sleepers that has toured across the world since 2004, but is yet to be performed in Wales.
The Last Supper is an intimate part meal, part performance, which explores the famous last words of people throughout history, including queens, politicians and inventors. Whether these people are famous, infamous, criminals, victims or heroes will be explored as we hear their last spoken words.
The stage will be set with three tables presenting a U shape. Each table seats 13 so you, the audience will become ‘The Last Supper’ as depicted in Leonardo Di Vinci’s famous painting.
As you enter the auditorium you will pull your table number, case number and incident number from a hat; thirteen of you will then experience life as a death row prisoner and be served your last supper. But beware; some of these last requests are better than others!
“There is something about the simplicity of this show that is unbearably moving.” Lyn Gardner, The Guardian
"The calling of numbers, the presentation of meals, the pause before lifting the lid of the silver serving dish, the pouring of water and wine, the toasting of the departed – all combine to create a quietly moving piece." Exeunt Magazine
Capacity for each show is limited to 39 people so please make your reservation quickly before the table fills up!
The Last Supper will be performed between Wednesday 19 July and Friday 21 July. Tickets cost £12.00 (concs £10.00), and are available online at http://bit.ly/2rTkNaS or by contacting Box Office on 01874 611622.
