Carmarthen rugby hearts will be beating a little bit faster tomorrow, as Ken Owens, locally born and bred, leads out the British Lions.
A fluent Welsh speaker, this former pupil of Ysgol Bro Myrddin is loved as a modest man - and, amazingly this is the first time he'll have played with the Lions, and worn that famous shirt. He captains Llanelli Scarlets otherwise.
According to press reports, Carmarthen Athletic chairman Wynne Jones almost screamed with excitement when he heard the news. http://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales-news/towns-pride-ken-owens-gets-13141107
Expect quite a few of us Carmarthen folk will be screaming Ken on tomorrow morning...
