Alongside John Abell’s exhibition 'Lost Conquistadors and Other Works' we’ll be reading Louis De Berniéres: The War of Don Emmanuel’s Nether Parts which is the first published novel by the author of Captain Corelli’s Mandolin.
Feel the sweltering heat and passion of an un-specified Latin American country. The book combines serious political concerns, echoing the torment and turbulence of 20th century South and Central America, with the absurd, outrageous and symbolic drawing on the ‘magical realism’ of Gabriel García Márquez.
